Yofi is a new site which will help match small business owners with skilled investor/partners who want to help them optimize and grow, and participate in the success they help create. Our goal is to help small business owners move beyond the limitations they are currently facing (whether due to financial or time constraints, lack of skills in certain key areas, or simply having plateaued in their sales and taken the business as far as they can, going it solo). We will give these small business owners a platform to connect with skilled, seasoned investor/partners who see the potential of the business, believe in the owner/operator, have skills, time and some resources to lend, and want to be a part of their growth and ongoing success. The whole idea is to create win-win situations for both parties, and to elevate both the small business owner and the invested partner to achieve more, together.
Responsibilities
As chief technologist, you will have a deep understanding of what it will take to build a viable initial marketplace site, and then iterate and optimize it. You will be hands-on, performing a lot of the work, also project managing, making sure everything flows, works, excites, and draws in our targeted users. We're looking for someone with significant experience who wants to be a part of this startup team and understands that we are all working for equity and forgoing immediate income. We need to get this thing built so we can promote it, bring in customers, expand it, and grow it.
Qualifications
Please submit your resume outlining your experience as a Chief Technologist. If you want to send a nice cover letter introducing yourself, that would be great. It's got to be a great personality fit since we'll be working closely together, and that means being able to trust each other, laugh, share in the burdens, make decisions together, strategize, pivot, hire, and make it happen. Ideal if you've had a fair amount of years doing this sort of thing, a track record of success, and you have a bunch of contacts too and can help find additional resources as needed as we go.
Prefer someone who lives in North County (Del Mar, Encinitas, Leucadia, Carlsbad), so we can get together regularly for coffee and brainstorm, but most of this will be remote since we don't have an office or anything and don't need one.
