The Data Team Lead (reference data team) is responsible for managing a team or department to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. The overall objective of this role is to drive applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities:
- 10+ years of software development experience
- Manage multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for the team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)
- Provide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management, and planning while monitoring end results
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues
- Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards
- Integrate in-depth knowledge of applications development with overall technology function to achieve established goals
- Provide evaluative judgement based on analysis of facts in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations including drawing from internal and external sources
- Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessary
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets.
Tech Skills:
- Strong understanding and experience in data modeling concepts and techniques
- Strong experience in reference data management and client data management
- Proficiency in data modeling tools
- Strong experience with database management systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong experience in large scale application development with distributed platforms using Java technologies
- Strong experience in SQL (Oracle); PL/SQL programming expertise is preferred
- Strong software design skills
- Strong experience in backend development including Micro-Service development
- Strong experience with Messaging (e.g. Tibco, Kafka)
- Experience with Graph DB is a plus
- Expertise in Unix (Linux) commands & scripting
- Experience with collaboration tools (source control)
- Good knowledge & experience on Workflow is a plus
- Attention to detail
- Self-motivated and willingness to learn as well as contribute to the wider team
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
