The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Neurosciences at the University of Minnesota is seeking a full-time, board-certified/eligible Ophthalmologist on the Clinician Track at the rank of Assistant Professor.
We seek an Ophthalmologist interested in teaching residents and staffing a clinical practice, particularly in an acute clinic and hospital consultation setting.
Position Highlights
- Key responsibilities include supervising, mentoring, and teaching medical students, residents, and fellows as well as developing curriculum.
- The clinical practice for this position will be focused on hospital-based and acute clinic ophthalmology care.
- The successful candidate will also engage in academic/scholarly activities either as a collaborator or independent researcher, and participate in faculty development activities tailored to the candidate's career interests and goals.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited ACGME Ophthalmology residency and/or fellowship training program.
- Board eligible/certified with the American Board of Ophthalmology.
- Licensed or ability to obtain the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure.
- Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification in the State of Minnesota.
- Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.

We are a collegial group of over 40 faculty members covering all sub-specialties of ophthalmology including Cornea, Neuro-ophthalmology, Oculoplastics, Vitreoretinal Surgery (Retina), Uveitis, Pediatric Ophthalmology, Glaucoma, Medical Retina, and Optometry.
