Position Summary
The Chief Credit Officer/Head of Servicing is responsible for the management and oversight of the finance organization. A successful candidate will mitigate risks surrounding the company’s loan portfolio while ensuring core profitability targets are achieved. The CCO will ensure compliance with government regulatory agencies, and oversee collections, recovery, insurance services, and bankruptcy procedures.
Responsibilities
- Oversees the operations of the finance organization and ensures portfolio performance and profitability.
- Maximizes profitability by ensuring the organization executes the full lifecycle of the portfolio from early-stage collections through the full remarketing cycle.
- Leads credit, collections, and other outside services departments and collaborates with analytics to develop metrics and KPIs to monitor collection and recovery performance.
- Regularly conducts analysis of metrics to set timely collection and recovery goals to ensure organizational goals are met.
- Identifies possible risks and creates strategies to overcome obstacles.
- Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies and stays abreast of changes in the market that may impact performance.
- Collaborates and participates with Executive Team members in the analysis, development, and execution of organizational strategies.
- Serves as an expert of the finance system of record and ensures all technological systems are aligned with the goals of the organization, working with vendors on system adjustments and enhancements. The CCO should be innovative and bring strategic opportunities that can continue to evolve the efficiency and profitability within the Finance Company.
- Provides regular direction to the team, including offshore and onshore vendors, to maintain engagement, profitability, and productivity.
- Develops leaders and staff to ensure optimal engagement and morale.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- 8 – 10 years of loan servicing, collections, or consumer finance management experience.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) with the ability to interact with all employee levels including executive management.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, professional attitude, including strong organization and time management skills.
- Working knowledge of the financial services industry, particularly in collections and/or call centers.
- Computer literacy to include Data Entry, Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint & Outlook.
Preferred
- Graduate/Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 – 8 years of automotive finance experience.
