Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Pre-Construction to lead our construction division. This pivotal role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in project management and business development. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills and a proven track record in overseeing large-scale construction projects while ensuring profitability and efficiency. The Vice President of Pre-Construction will be responsible for driving the company's growth through effective strategic planning, process improvement, and sales initiatives.
Qualifications: Competencies & Knowledge
- In-depth experience with contract development, negotiation, and administration to include change management, claims, dispute resolution and legal interface.
- Experience with multiple commercial contract types (LS, T&M) and labor agreements (union, non-union).
- Expert knowledge of project execution and project controls means and methods.
- Knowledgeable and capable of leading the BP&P procurement function.
- Excellent writing and grammatical skills for crafting items such as procedures, proposals, bid documents, reports, correspondence, etc.
- Highly proficient with MS Office suite, strong working knowledge in accounting software and engineering applications.

Responsibilities
Work effectively with the executive leadership team to set and accomplish BP&P’s 3-5 year Strategic Plan and cascading annual business goals.
- Provide effective leadership to achieve key business objective flow downs at the departmental level.
- Recommend and implement changes in operating strategy to enhance or improve overall efficiency.
- Support adherence to safety and operational procedures that promote employee safety and wellness.
- Work closely with the executive leadership team to formulate, develop, and achieve objectives for ongoing construction projects for BP&P.
- Utilize effective talent management in the acquisition, training, development, and retention of departmental co-workers.
- Make project assignment recommendations to operations for managed departmental co-workers.
- Ensure departmental co-workers assigned to projects are adequately trained to perform assigned duties, are productive and deliver a positive contribution.
- Ensure all managed departmental co-workers have clear job descriptions/ assignments, annual performance goals, and performance appraisals. Collaborate with operational leaders for co-reviews for co-workers assigned to projects.
- Force rank all departmental co-workers based on each year’s annual performance to identify top performers, and make recommendations for annual bonus distributions.
- Manage personnel and provide an environment for the development and professional advancement of staff members, including on-the-job and formal training and development opportunities.
- Ensure there is an active succession plan for departmental co-workers, with individual development plans for “high-potential” co-workers identified on the succession plan.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $168,003.00 - $182,254.00 per year
