Your Role in Action
- Proactively partner with stakeholders across the business to enable effective decision making related to key strategic, financial, and commercial opportunities and drive bottom line performance improvement.
- Demonstrate advanced influence and negotiation skills, proven ability to engage stakeholders to enable improved outcomes for the business.
- Effectively communicate clear and concise financial performance insights to the Senior Leadership team on a broad array of topics whilst adhering to deadlines.
- Demonstrate continuous improvement to improve accuracy and automation of financial reporting as well as identify initiatives to improve cost efficiency and productivity across the business.
- Demonstrate leadership skills, including influencing team members and stakeholders, with the ability to work collaboratively across the function whilst supporting the team in achieving its goals.
- Champion the delivery of a comprehensive suite of financial improvements (process and reporting) across all functions (e.g. budgeting, forecasting, financial performance reporting and ad hoc financial analysis).
- Identify systemic financial issues and manage initiatives to redesign and continually improve key standards, systems and processes to ensure a best for business outcome in alignment with Western Power’s Governance policies.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business, or a relevant discipline.
- Broad and extensive experience performing complex accounting, management reporting or financial analysis functions within a commercial environment.
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strong working relationships at all levels of an organisation.
- Excellent communication, complemented by adaptable interpersonal skills and highly developed influencing skills.
- Very strong business acumen, expert level analytical skills and significant experience working with best practice financial reporting systems and standards.
- Proven business/process improvement skills, ability to align detail-oriented tasks with the "big picture" and communicate accordingly to a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Strong blend of theoretical and practical knowledge in complex financial and analytical techniques, and the capability to plan own work and respect deadlines.
- Driver’s License essential – this role will include frequent travel to our depots to engage and effectively support our core staff.
