Job Title: Investment Funds Associate Attorney
Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm located in Washington, DC, is seeking a highly experienced Investment Funds Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will bring over four years of expertise in the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act, with specific experience in supporting closed-end funds such as tender offer funds, interval funds, and business development companies (BDCs). Strong academic performance, exceptional writing skills, and effective interpersonal communication are crucial for success in this role. Experience with open-end funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) is beneficial.
Duties:
- Provide legal counsel and support on matters related to the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act
- Offer expertise and guidance in the formation and operation of closed-end funds (including tender offer funds, interval funds, and business development companies)
- Assist in the development, registration, and regulatory compliance of investment vehicles
- Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents and contracts related to investment funds
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including compliance, marketing, and business development
- Conduct legal research and analysis on regulatory updates impacting investment funds
- Liaise with regulators and clients to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience in the Investment Company Act and Investment Advisers Act
- Expertise in supporting closed-end funds (e.g., tender offer funds, interval funds, business development companies)
- Familiarity with open-end funds and/or ETFs is an advantage
- Strong legal writing and drafting skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
- Admission to the Bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction (Washington, DC preferred)
