The Global Strategy capability within our Global Consulting Practice is currently seeking a Managing Director who can work collaboratively with our service line leaders, subject matter experts and Newmark’s extensive brokerage network to develop industry leading solutions that address the strategic, operational and financial needs of our corporate clients. Our corporate clients span multiple geographies (both domestic and international), industries (industrial and office) and many asset types such as manufacturing, warehouses, headquarters, back office and data centers.
This position will be part of the Location Strategy team and will also support other service lines within Newmark Global Strategy Consulting Practice. The preferred location for the position is in Chicago or Dallas. The ideal candidate will be able to manage labor and workforce analytics to support multiple client projects as part of a consulting team. This position will also have responsibility for developing and maintaining new labor and workforce analytics capabilities to support client work and will be expected to contribute to Newmark’s thought leadership in the workforce and labor area. The ability to work with labor data to support end users for consulting and brokerage services, as well as supporting our consulting analysts, database administrators and application developers will be essential to creating a robust labor analytics capability.
We seek talented individuals who can work collaboratively within a strong team culture, effectively communicate with leadership and work toward becoming subject matter experts in support of Newmark’s extensive brokerage network. The work environment requires delivering meaningful and accurate quantitative and qualitative analytics, virtually and in person as part of a multi-market team. Strong presentation and writing skills are essential to support the creation of executive-level quality reports that are clear and that give actionable solutions to our clients’ most complex real estate challenges. The candidate must be familiar with major human resource, workforce and labor data sources and experienced with developing and analyzing large datasets.
A wide variety of projects and situations will present itself to the candidate, and the candidate will embrace new challenges and demonstrate critical thinking and technology skills to help solve our client’s researchable problems, domestic and global in context.
Skills, Education, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Economics, Finance, Urban & Regional Planning or Economic Development.
- MBA or other specialized master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Experience in a management consulting environment preferred.
- Problem solving, analytical, research and client service skills.
- An ability to develop highly creative solutions to complex issues.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate complex topics to clients.
- Proficiency with technology and client service tools; PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Word and VISIO/CAD CAM related project management and process mapping packages.
- Ability to work effectively in large teams and independently.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Strong familiarity with all major economic real estate and labor data sources: BEA, BLS, Census, O*Net, EUROSTAT, ILO, Costar.
Salary: $142,000 - $160,000 annually
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $142,000 to $160000 annually. The actual base salary will be determined on an individualized basis taking into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, and, where applicable, licenses or certifications held. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, this position may be eligible for additional types of compensation including discretionary bonuses and other short- and long-term incentives (e.g., deferred cash, equity, etc.).

Essential Job Duties:
- Provide sales support for key pursuits and business development activities.
- Develop and grow business relationships with brokers, business alliances, vendors, and clients, especially in using labor analytics as a differentiator for the practice.
- Subject matter expert in guiding clients in area(s) of specialization.
- Conduct primary and secondary research for business development and project support.
- Manage portions of projects through the processing of large quantities of data and information.
- Consolidate and report trends in subject areas including industry trends and labor market evaluations.
- Create innovative decision support tools that address the financial and operational concerns of our clients.
- Be attentive to client’s requirements and effectively communicate the value proposition for services offered.
- Prepare financial analysis/business case development of presentations to support recommendations and opportunities.
- Responsible for leading and executing multiple projects.
