About This Role:
Forrester analysts conduct innovative research and deliver advice through written reports, advisory consulting, client inquiries, and speeches. As a member of the analyst relations research team, this Analyst will advise clients how to raise, prove, and showcase the business value of industry analyst relations for their organizations. Candidates must understand best practices in AR strategy, influence, sales support, and analyst insights to help clients achieve greater peaks of commercial success. They will couple this with an appetite for conducting and writing research to stay abreast of the issues.
Job Description:
- Conduct research into new aspects of AR such as strategic planning, influence over and by analysts, AR support to vendor sales, and insights from analysts.
- Write long and short research documents that convey new ideas. These reports typically: 1) introduce new thinking about successful strategies and best and next practices; 2) present strategic roadmaps for applying new ways of working; and 3) accelerate the adoption of these new strategies to help clients solve their business challenges.
- Support the Analyst Relations Council with member engagement, including presentations, inquiries, and unique content.
- Collaborate with experts in different focus areas from across Forrester's roles and geographic teams to develop a complete context for these best practices, both providing input to other analysts' research reports and writing reports incorporating their expertise to provide a big-picture view.
- Support consulting engagements as a subject matter expert to apply Forrester's research in the context of clients' specific business environments and help solve their problems through inquiry, guidance sessions, advisory, and project consulting.
- Present at Forrester-sponsored and industry-related events and deliver client webinars.
- Establish an industry presence as an influential speaker and thinker and build relationships with senior analyst relations professionals.
- Support team members in research collaboration, idea development, and higher-order strategic thinking.
- Embrace social tools and build a market presence via social media.
- Support sales in client development discussions.
Job Requirements:
- A strong record of academic achievement: BA or BS minimum.
- A minimum of five years' experience in an analyst relations role.
- A strong understanding of the impact analyst relations has on B2B sales, marketing, and product technology to achieve strong business results.
- A desire to learn the existing corpus of Forrester's analyst relations research so as to build new research upon it and to extend it to AR areas that Forrester has yet to research.
- Knowledge and experience of Forrester's analyst relations research is a plus.
- A profound spirit of team collaboration. We work as an integrated team that supports all team members.
- Intellectual curiosity about the effect of technology on the business landscape; solid business instincts and a practical understanding of what makes companies tick.
- Superior listening, critical thinking, analysis, and writing skills as well as memorable presentation skills.
- The ability to analyze data in Excel.
- The ability to take complex, disparate ideas (the big answers almost never come from one source) and distill them into simple, provocative concepts.
- The ability to plan projects and drive toward their timely completion.
- The ability to travel 25% of the time.
