Job Summary
The Unit Dir-Ethics & Compliance role will oversee, build, and maintain the compliance and ethics program for the assigned unit. Develop procedures and controls to reasonably identify and address procedures inconsistent with applicable laws, policies, and regulations. This role includes day-to-day operations of the unit and providing leadership and development for team members. The role will demonstrate proven experience in compliance-related matters, proactive solution-oriented approaches to reduce risk, and a proven track record of service delivery experience to internal and external stakeholders. This position will build and sustain close working relationships with unit leadership, peers, team members, and business partners to provide compliance guidance and support and to ensure information is shared diplomatically and tasks are completed effectively.

Responsibilities
- Develop a program within the unit to maintain compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and policies, including the University System of Georgia's Code of Conduct.
- Manage the annual audit of policies and recommend changes to policy as needed for compliance purposes.
- Review policies and practice for compliance with applicable federal and state laws and regulations, and with policies established by the Board of Regents.
- Develop and deliver training in support of the Institute's Ethics and Compliance Program.
- Conduct risk assessments of compliance areas within unit; present findings and recommendations to unit leadership.
- Conduct internal investigations involving unit employees; present findings and recommendations to unit leadership.
- Lead and execute transformational projects related to unit compliance priorities.
- Foster collaborative relationships with team members and provide oversight and guidance on a regular basis.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Risk Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Required Qualifications
Required Certifications, Licenses or Permits:
o Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional
o Attainment of Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional within one year following employment.
Required Experience
Four to six years of job-related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
SKILLS
In-depth knowledge of compliance auditing principles and processes. Working knowledge of institutional policies as they apply to ethics and compliance including time reporting, procurement and travel reporting.
