We're looking for someone who is well rounded in the end-to-end journey of Medical Insurance to lead our Provider Systems team supporting Provider Operations across the enterprise. You will be a critical part in not only technology innovation but also strengthening provider integrations and thereby improving the quality of care for our members.
The AVP, Technology Solutions devises an effective strategy for executing and delivering on IT business initiatives. The AVP, Technology Solutions requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across the function or segment.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a liaison and collaborate with business and functional stakeholders to identify and deliver strategic enablement solutions.
- Implement new/updated programs or large-scale projects for the function and support technical/operational procedures and processes.
- Lead the overall Provider Systems technology delivery functions.
- Ensure proper methodology, controls, and capabilities are in place to enable successful delivery to meet business needs and align with Enterprise goals.
- Collaborate with business and other internal/external partners to prioritize and execute activities.
- Attract, retain, and develop delivery talent.
- Engage directly and take responsibility for delivery of large, complex programs.
- Transform strategy decisions into an outcomes-oriented approach to prioritizing technology initiatives and products.
- Drive a delivery roadmap with both short-term capabilities and long-term solutions in support of the Provider Systems Strategy.
- Provide business and technology leaders with thought leadership on emerging technologies and trends relevant to the Provider Systems Strategy.
- Attract, hire, grow, and mentor individuals on the team and foster an environment of engagement.
- Advocate for new ways of working and delivering on outcomes, focusing on quality and agility.
- Create a team culture of inclusion, support, and curiosity that demonstrates the Humana values.
- Lead & support technology and business teams' adoption and adherence to Agile principles.
Key Candidate Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in computer science or related IT field.
- 15 years' experience leading IT teams with increasing responsibility.
- 10 years of progressive information technology experience directly related to architecture/engineering, information security, or other specialized technology field.
- 5 years of experience in agile development and work practices.
- A demonstrated willingness to challenge the status quo and offer opinions and perspectives that run counter to prevailing viewpoints.
- Solid understanding of business strategy and a record of demonstrating how technology enables business outcomes.
- Experience in managing change by leading and energizing others, modeling adaptability, and inspiring strong organizational performance through periods of transformation, ambiguity, and complexity.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the polish, poise, and executive presence that will ensure effective interaction with senior and executive level audiences.
- Deep understanding of modern information technology strategy and practices.
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
