We are seeking a board-certified Psychiatrist to join our Executive Leadership Team as Chief Medical Officer. Root Center for Advanced Recovery is a financially strong non-profit behavioral healthcare organization that continues to grow and expand services. We currently operate 10 sites throughout CT, serving almost 6000 patients a day. Over the next 18 months, 4 additional sites will be added to the Root Center network of care. As the needs of our patients have also become more diverse, we also anticipate expanding into primary care level services in the coming years. At present, the CMO oversees all medical services of the agency, as well as our Advanced Recovery Institute (ARI), a subsidiary of Root Center for Advanced Recovery. This entity seeks to elevate clinical care and patient outcomes by conducting research, facilitating training and education programs, including Clinical Grand Rounds, Community Forums, as well as sponsoring/hosting academic fellowships.
The Role
- The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will have the ultimate responsibility for the medical/health aspects of the program and organization as a whole. They will serve as a key member of the organization’s executive leadership team.
- The successful candidate will be one who has demonstrated experience in thoughtful leadership, exceptional relationship, and teambuilding as well as an excellent communicator.
- Provide administrative oversight of the agency’s medical services, and direction for physicians, physician assistants, psychiatrists, and APRNs. Administrative responsibilities also include medical policy review and clinical case reviews with clinicians.
- The CMO will be responsible for driving the organization's overall clinical strategy and key integration strategies including serving as the medical voice and subject matter expert.
- The CMO will foster a team of compassionate care providers who effectively treat clients in recovery.
- Oversee and ensure clinical programs comply with applicable federal and state regulations, accreditation standards and Root Center policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Must have a valid license to practice medicine in the State of Connecticut with a minimum of five (5) years of clinical practice with at least one year of clinical supervisory/administrative experience. Board Certified in psychiatry with previous experience in a chemical dependency treatment environment.
