This position is primarily responsible for generating standard and customized global Medical Information content to fulfill unsolicited Medical Information requests from both healthcare professionals (HCPs) and non-HCPs for Ascendis products. Additional responsibilities include:
- Training call centers, external business partners, and other Ascendis team members on Medical Information content & processes.
- Continuous monitoring of product trends to ensure appropriate content strategy and communication to the wider Ascendis organization.
- Continuous improvement of Medical Information processes and deliverables.
- Ensure audit readiness at all times to GxP standards.
- Ad hoc project support as needed for efforts in Medical Information.
Key Responsibilities
- Serves as the subject matter expert for Medical Information for assigned therapeutic areas and/or products.
- Exhibits advanced knowledge of Medical Information work and processes as well as comprehensive understanding of other internal stakeholders.
- Responsible for the development, update/maintenance, and delivery of global Medical Information content for assigned therapeutic areas and/or products, ensuring materials are aligned with the needs of the regions/countries and consistent with global Medical Affairs content.
- Researches and analyzes scientific information to answer escalated Medical Information inquiries.
- Provides guidance for the appropriate use of scientific evidence by reviewing materials developed by external compendia (e.g., Medical Letter, MediSpan, treatment guidelines).
- Takes the lead at resolving issues related to the day-to-day work, proposes recommendations and drives implementation of required changes, new processes, etc.
- Supports key scientific conventions/congresses through the creation of medical booth assets, participation in meeting's preparation or post-congress involvement with cross-functional teams, staffing of Medical Affairs booths during congresses, and generation of booth metrics reports.
- Provides a Medical Information perspective on the development and revision of SOPs, implementation guidelines (IGs), and Work Instructions (WIs) as necessary.
- Provides on-going training to call center agents and other relevant individuals on new or updated Medical Information content.
- Establish and continuously monitor enquiry trends and metrics and proactively identifies unmet content needs and communicates product trends to the wider business.
- Provides support to the wider Ascendis business with the handling of complex inquiries escalated by the call center and field-based personnel.
- Regularly monitors the quality and accuracy of responses provided by the call center and identifies necessary corrective actions or training required to ensure compliance with regional and local regulations as well as internally relevant SOPs.
Requirements
- PharmD/PhD/MD/Doctorate of Nursing degree and at least 6 years' experience in Medical Information, Medical Affairs, or comparable medical information experience.
- Possesses advanced skills at critically evaluating literature.
- Possesses advanced skills at writing/summarizing clinical and scientific data.
- Demonstrates excellent relationship management skills and the ability to influence and negotiate outcomes.

15-20% travel
Salary range: $170-185K/year
