POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Medical Director of Oncology Research will be responsible for establishing the overall strategic direction for the Oncology Research Program and the provision of care to those patients. Responsibilities include oversight of the clinical research trial portfolio, trial opportunities, related publications/presentations, pharmaceutical/biotech relationships, and other key collaborations and partnerships.
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
- Responsible for the overall strategic development and management of the Northside Hospital Cancer Institute’s (NHCI) clinical research trial portfolio, including trial opportunities, related publications/presentations, pharmaceutical/biotech relationships, and other key collaborations and partnerships.
- Facilitate and drive collaboration with Pharma/Biotech, NHCI physicians, Research Program Leadership, NHCI Leadership, and other partners to advance common interests and achieve mutual goals.
- Serve as the key point of contact, point of issue escalation, and interface with NHCI Physician Investigators (and physicians within oncology program practices) to lead relationship management and oncology research development/strategy.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Authorized to practice medicine in the state of Georgia, and holds all appropriate licenses from the Georgia Composite State Board of Examiners.
- Board certified in oncology and hematology.
- Minimum of 7 years of Oncology Research experience.
- Pharma/CRO/investigator-initiated experience.
- Knowledge of drug development process.
