About Us:
Bazaar Ventures is a dynamic and entrepreneurial search fund dedicated to identifying and acquiring small to mid-sized businesses with strong growth potential. We are seeking a select group of highly driven, innovative, and self-motivated people to join our team as Search Fund Associates. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in private equity, including industry ideation, deal sourcing, and live deal diligence throughout the search process.
Role Responsibilities:
As a Search Fund Associate with a focus on process improvement and finance, you will play a pivotal role in the acquisition strategy of Bazaar Ventures. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with our founders and gain firsthand experience in every stage of the search and acquisition process.
On top of that, your responsibilities as Processes + Finance lead will include:
- Leading Financial Analysis: Prepare financial models and perform comprehensive analyses of target companies, including developing financial projections and valuations.
- Participating in Due Diligence: Be a part of due diligence processes, including the review of financial documents, operational analyses, and interviewing relevant stakeholders to evaluate the financial health of investment opportunities at hand, as well as potential business model and company structure risks.
- Leading Preparation of Presentations & Reports: Oversee the preparation of presentations and reports for the investment team and key stakeholders—guide junior interns in effectively communicating complex data as actionable insights.
- Identifying Promising Industry Sectors: Guide junior interns in conducting in-depth market research and analysis to pinpoint promising industry sectors for potential acquisitions. Stay informed on current industry trends and market dynamics to offer strategic guidance.
- Oversee the review of proprietary-sourced financials utilizing junior interns as needed to assess risks quickly and determine the suitability of potential acquisitions. Provide insights on deal structuring, especially around deals showing promise but possessing high risks (e.g., customer concentration).
- Oversee the review of brokered-sourced financials by junior interns, including implementing strategic improvements of existing templates (e.g., CIM & Teaser review templates) and ensuring timely completion.
- Coaching 2-3 junior interns in analyzing financial statements, building CIMs/ teasers, and developing financial models.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a senior in an undergraduate program, a master’s student, or an MBA candidate with a focus on finance, business, economics, or a related field
- Strong academic performance (minimum GPA of 3.5 or equivalent)
- Demonstrated passion for private equity, finance, and entrepreneurship
- Previous experience in private equity, financial evaluation, modeling, or related internships is highly preferred
- Strong writing skills are highly preferred
- Highly self-motivated, independent, and comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
