Sr. Director of Project Management

- Role requires in-person presence at our Utah office
- Physical Hard and Soft goods product experience is required
- Familiarity with the child industry and outdoor industry is highly preferred
What You'll Do
Working directly with the Skipper, the Sr. Director of Product will be responsible for leading the entire Product team and will play a pivotal role in driving the strategy for planning, controlling, and moving goods, including, but not limited to:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive product journey strategy that aligns with the company's goals and customer needs
- Drive the vision and roadmap for the product experience across all stages of the customer lifecycle
- Develop and articulate a clear product vision and strategy
- Develop internal and external standard operating procedures
- Communicate product goals and progress to stakeholders and ensure alignment with overall business objectives
Process Management:
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine departmental processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
- Take ownership of process optimization and make necessary updates to adapt to evolving needs and challenges
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with the Sr. Director of Design to ensure all product designs are in line with company goals
- Work closely with Design, Marketing, Sales and Logistic teams to ensure the product journey is cohesive and internal and external deadlines are met
- Facilitate communication and alignment across departments
Product Roadmap:
- Collaborate with Sr. Design Director to define and prioritize features and enhancements that will improve the overall product journey
- Ensure that product developments are aligned with testing feedback, customer feedback and business objectives
- Create all company product briefs, outlining required information to ensure development efforts remain on target with company directives - key features, target consumer, pricing plan, sustainability targets, competitor subsets, etc.
Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing product management team
- Foster a collaborative and innovative environment that encourages professional growth and excellence
Leadership & Culture:
- Lead by example and exhibit behavior consistent with company's expectations for a department head in order to uphold WAYB culture and values
- Integrate social and environmental factors and considerations in day-to-day decision making, weighing implications alongside financial and product/consumer/market considerations; lead and inspire team members to do the same
- Support and actively participate in company and employee initiatives that reinforce and further establish the company's commitment to people and planet
Who You Are
- You're a strategist, able to think critically and manage large amounts of information to propose best path forwards for product ideation
- You're exceptional at prioritizing, never missing a deadline and get things done on time
- You're an expert in the product development cycle, comfortable leading large and diverse teams from product ideation phase to final production
- You're hard-working with a "no task is too small" attitude
- You're never satisfied with the status quo and are a natural problem solver
- You're a collaborative team player willing to take on other duties to support your team
- You're very experienced in complex soft and hard goods design process, comfortable with range of construction techniques to achieve innovative solutions
- You're artfully articulate, from elevator chats to boardroom meetings, you always know the best way to communicate and build strong relationships along the way
- You're mission-driven and ready to be part of a company that's working to put people and planet first
What You'll Need
- U.S Citizenship or authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship required
- 10+ Years experience in the Product field managing, development, product line management field
- Background check (required, due to user testing with families)
- Willingness to work varied hours to comply with international time zones
- Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 10-20% of the time)
- Heavy experience working and communicating across international teams
- Proficiency in project management, strategic planning and Adobe Suite or applicable design software
- Located, or willing to relocate to the Salt Lake City, Utah area
Where We Are
WAYB's Innovation Discovery team is located in Salt Lake City, Utah. This role requires a full time in-person working environments while being open to travel to various sites to effectively carry out duties and responsibilities.
