Job Title: Chief Title Officer - Remote

Job Responsibilities:
- The Chief Title Officer works with the Title and Sales Departments, RE agents, buyers, and sellers to resolve detailed and complex title issues.
- Works closely with underwriters to ensure that underwriting guidelines are followed by staff.
- Educates and trains title officers on underwriting guidelines and decisions.
- Assists title officers in understanding California law and claims history that shape company policies and title decisions.
- Drafts and prepares indemnity agreements and high-liability approval applications for underwriters.
- Thoroughly examines existing orders for underwriting compliance, proper vesting, and granting of title.
Job Requirements:
- High level of title knowledge and expertise with at least 10 years of experience running a title unit.
- Up to date with all underwriting processes, California title law, and procedures.
- Ability to identify insurability of property and advise title units on technical issues.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
- Excellent verbal/written skills, including punctuation, spelling, grammar, and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations.
