Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Director of Safety and Health to join the Packaging and Cellulose (P&C) Safety Support Team, focusing on supporting the Containerboard business and providing overall safety and health support for the Containerboard and Cellulose businesses. Responsibilities include developing and supporting strategic improvements, improving safety leadership, and guiding the implementation of safety and health plans across all sites. Our Team
The Safety and Health Leader role provides support to the Containerboard business within the Packaging & Cellulose team. This position supports the Vice President of the Containerboard Operations and reports to the Sr. Director of Safety and Health for Cellulose and Containerboard. The role requires approximately 35% - 50% domestic travel.
What You Will Do
- Partner with the Vice Presidents of Containerboard Operations to align interests and foster a safety-integrated environment.
- Facilitate the implementation of the Safety and Health strategic plan for the Containerboard business.
- Ensure alignment with the strategic plan and support sites in achieving objectives.
- Promote Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) concepts across the Containerboard business.
- Drive risk reduction across all critical hazards and prioritize risks with sites.
- Advance safety strategies through disciplined operations.
- Facilitate better conversations around hazards using the GPs Save-my-Life/Start Work process.
- Ensure appropriate safety staffing and improve engagement among leaders.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Engineering.
- Five (5) or more years of experience leading Safety or Operations in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Must travel 35% to 50% of the time.

- Knowledge in safety management systems and organizational effectiveness.
- Experience with human and organizational performance integration.
- Experience with implementing safety systems for high-risk processes.
For this role, we anticipate paying $120,000 - $185,000 per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
