Job Description:
The International Tax Director will be responsible for overseeing and managing the international tax planning and compliance functions of the organization. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep subject matter expertise in international income tax. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading a dedicated team of professionals and successfully navigating through complex tax issues.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and implement international tax strategies to optimize global tax positions and manage tax risks.
- Ensure compliance with international tax regulations, including the preparation and review of international tax returns and OECD promulgations.
- Provide a deep expertise in all international aspects of the U.S. federal and state returns and assist with the preparation of all foreign related forms (e.g., 1118, 5471, 8858, etc.), foreign tax credit calculations, tax basis in foreign subsidiaries, Subpart F income, FDII, GILTI, etc.
- Oversee transfer pricing policies and documentation to comply with local and international standards.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including finance, legal, and business units, to provide tax guidance and support business decisions.
- Liaise with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory authorities to address tax issues and maintain strong relationships.
- Monitor and interpret changes in international tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the organization.
- Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
- Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the timely and successful completion of tax audits and financial reporting requirements.
- Perform technical research and draft tax memorandums to summarize complex international tax issues.
- Be a champion for a strong control environment, including adherence to all applicable SOX requirements.
- Assist with special projects, such as M&A, as needed. This includes working with outside tax advisors to analyze non-US transactions, model tax costs, estimate the impact on attributes, perform due diligence, and assist with carveout financial statements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience in tax.
- CPA license required.

- Leadership abilities and experience managing a team.
- Masters in Tax or JD preferred.
- Extensive experience and background in ASC 740 accounting for income taxes.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships cross-functionally within the organization.
- Detail oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to identify and drive process improvements.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
