The Senior Cell Engineer will support the commercialization of SCC55TM, Group14’s best-in-class silicon anode material. This role will lead the design, development, and execution of battery related projects, as well as support customers’ evaluations.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING :
Design and development of lithium-ion battery pouch cells for high-energy and high-power applications using SCC55.
Support customer evaluations through various qualification stages for both EV and consumer electronics applications.
Manage a team of engineers and operators responsible for making pouch cells.
Develop design of experiments for root cause analysis of material degradation and conduct failure analysis of cells.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR :
M.S. or PhD in chemical or electrochemical engineering, material science, or related field.
4+ years’ experience on cell design at a Li-ion battery manufacturing facility.
2+ years’ experience in a managerial role.
Practical experience in various battery manufacturing steps would be highly beneficial and is a must.
Track record for successfully managing engineering projects as a technical lead.
Previous experience with customer technical support.
In-depth knowledge in the electrochemical interaction of various cell components and their effect on the performance of the cell.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
5S or Six Sigma.
OTHER QUALITIES WE’D LOVE FOR YOU TO HAVE :
- Experience in performance and safety and abuse testing of batteries, within the automotive and/or consumer electronics industries.
The annual base salary range for this position is $100,000 - $160,000. All positions come with a bonus plan and company stock options. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the position is located.

$110,000-$160,000USD
