Job Description
The Vice President of EHS is responsible for managing the development and construction scopes across the business with consistent implementation of safety, security, and environmental compliance programs.
Qualifications:
Strategic Leadership:
- Work with executives and site leaders to develop strategies and implement tactical plans delivering on environmental, health and safety commitments to ensure the highest level of compliance, quality, and ethics.
- Develop and communicate a sharp vision and strategic roadmap for EHS initiatives aligned with the company's goals and values.
- Provide executive leadership and guidance to EHS teams across multiple locations, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Assure the safety program remains on course by tracking leading and lagging indicators inclusive of manager goals and objectives, audits, incident rates and the addition of new metrics and programs that further enhance the overall safety initiative.
- Assist in hiring, training and developing an EHS team to support T5 and client related compliance.
- Partner with department leaders to ensure budgetary parameters are considered when executing EHS operations.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Remain abreast of relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations at the local, state, and federal levels, ensuring company-wide compliance.
- Continually adapt program structure, priorities, and strategies to meet the needs of a dynamic, growing corporation through best-in-class EHS programs maximizing business performance.
- Maintain third-party relationships established to support our compliance endeavors.
- Establish processes for monitoring regulatory changes and proactively implementing necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.
- Ensure monthly, quarterly, bi-annual, and annual reports to our local, state, and federal agencies occur as required.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential Environment Health/Safety risks and hazards associated with facilities management and construction activities for T5 Data Centers and our customer sites and develop effective mitigation strategies to minimize incidents and liabilities.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and audits to evaluate compliance and effectiveness of EHS programs, recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Provide relevant and timely metrics that educate the management teams on trends. Work in tandem with the management teams to establish measures/actions that reduce risk.
Training and Education:
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs to educate employees at all levels on EHS policies for Construction and Development, procedures, and best practices.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, required
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental health and safety leadership roles.
- 5+ years of construction safety experience focused on new build, mega projects.
- 3+ years of managerial experience leading teams, required.
- General Contractor and/or Owner experience required.
- Experience leading construction EHS efforts for multi-site projects across dispersed geographies.
- Experience in implementing programs to manage EHS construction and operational risks.
- Data Center Experience (preferred).
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CHST (preferred).
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental, health and safety or related field.
- Thorough understanding of all relevant safety rules and regulations.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire teams at all levels of the organization.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing Environmental health safety/DOT strategies, programs, and training initiatives that deliver measurable results.
- Methodical thinker with excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills and ability to coach and train others.
