Our client, located in the Atlanta, GA area, has an immediate opening for a Plant Engineering Director.
Responsibilities Include:
- Provide leadership for the preventative maintenance and upkeep of the plants and facilities equipment and required supplies to maximize uptime, minimize costs and meet health and safety regulatory standards.
- Safety Improvement
- Long term capacity planning
- Oversee the validation qualification of new equipment.
- Oversee the fulfillment of the strategic vision for the Engineering organization to ensure products are aligned with overall business and market strategy.
- Manage, coach and evaluate the team members.
- Create and support programs that encourage innovation.
- Provide technical leadership in setting strategy with regard to technical and product structural issues, choice of methodology and standards.
- Direct department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, improve production techniques, and develop test procedures.
- Confers with Management, Production, and Marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness, and customer demand for new and existing products.
- Forecasts operating costs of department and directs preparation of budget requests.
- Perform probationary and annual reviews of employees.
- Responsible for overseeing the design, manufacture, validation and implementation of the tooling and fixtures needed for the inspection and assembly of the product.
- Maintain and follow proper compliance and quality systems requirements.
- Lead projects including team members, and be responsible for all meetings, and working with all individuals from supporting departments such as Scheduling and Planning.
- Assist with manufacturing to resolve Production issues as required.
- Responsible for the review of designs to ensure manufacturability and verify costs to meet project requirements.
- Work closely with HR for the hiring, discipline and retention of the employees.
Experience and Education Requirements:
- Engineering Degree
- 5+ years of multi-site plant engineering
- Six Sigma Black Belt
- CNC Machining experience
