Lazy River Products, LLC “LRP” is a fully-integrated, state of the art cannabis-based product development company in Dracut, MA, and we are beyond thrilled to start recruiting for our 2nd Retail location in Tewksbury, MA!
What we’re looking for:
In the midst of our company’s growth, LRP is in search of an experienced GM to lead and contribute to developing our brand-new 2nd retail store. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the GM will be highly skilled in sales, managing teams, and someone who delivers results. The GM will have an understanding of a start-up business and has business acumen to help deliver strategic results, having previous experience leading a new retail location.

Schedule: TBD – must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and all federal holidays outside of Thanksgiving and Christmas Days

Job Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of proven Retail/Hospitality Management experience.
- Previous cannabis industry experience (Dutchie/Metrc) is strongly preferred.
- Retail inventory management is a huge plus.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in employee training, performance management, and building high-performing teams.
Core Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain and exceed all sales related goals.
- Participate in weekly organizational meetings with executive team to ensure goal and success alignment.
- Oversee all aspects of running the retail dispensary business unit.
- Coordinate with other business units (cultivation, marketing, finance, wholesale and product manufacturing) for cross reference, internal product delivery and product development initiatives based on customer input and feedback.
- Lead initiatives to maintain and exceed sales-related goals, ensuring the dispensary remains competitive in the market.
- Provide superior customer service for vendors and guests.
- Organize and respond to all customer complaints, requests, concerns, suggestions, and act when necessary to resolve conflicts.
- Oversee product returns, coordinating with the Inventory Manager to ensure quality control and product integrity are maintained.
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining a comprehensive training program for all retail roles.
- Responsible for managing all personnel timekeeping, scheduling, performance reviews, disciplinary or corrective action, and any other HR-related policies and procedures the company has established.
- Responsible for conducting reoccurring leadership meetings to improve processes and communication.
- Lead the Assistant General Manager, Security Manager, Inventory Manager, and Team Leads, ensuring clear communication and effective supervision of all retail personnel.
- Serve as a mentor and resource for dispensary staff, maintaining a compliant, productive, and clean environment.
- Ensure that staff are well-informed about products, services, policies, procedures, industry news, and regulatory updates.
- Manage leadership team consisting of AGM and Dispensary Team Leads, ensuring that there is adequate supervision and leadership coverage for each shift.
- Interview, hire, and onboard new personnel, ensuring all staff are equipped to meet operational needs.
- Work closely with the Inventory Manager and Purchasing Agent to handle the ordering and receiving of all inventories, ensuring the facility adheres to state regulations for cannabis operations.
- Communicate daily with Inventory Manager, who is responsible for managing a fully traceable inventory system, ensuring proper classification, storage, and reconciliation with METRC and Point of Sale (POS) systems.
- Key member of the specials team, tasked with determining promotional offers and ensuring proper First In, First Out (FIFO) processes for all cannabis products to maintain product freshness and quality.
- Provide sales data for all promotions to build upon successes and failures for future promotion opportunities.
- Manage the Dutchie eCommerce platform, updating the Specials Menu Page and notifying staff and customers of new product drops.
- Additional duties as assigned.
