We are seeking a highly motivated professional with strong drive and a problem-solving attitude to join our General Ledger team. In the role, you will perform a variety of tasks ranging from routine to sophisticated analysis and play a critical role in the global consolidation and financial reporting process resulting in complete and accurate financials. Additionally, you will be working in an agile and innovative environment while establishing relationships within the accounting team and the larger business operations organization (e.g. FP&A, Treasury, Tax, SEC Reporting, Internal Audit, etc.). Exceptional candidates will be critical problem solvers with focus on implementing process improvements to streamline and scale processes for growth.
Reports to: Director, Corporate Accounting and Consolidations - New Ventures
What You’ll Do
- Execute the month-end close processes which include tasks such as preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, reviewing vendor agreements for accounting assessment, and conducting fluctuation analyses.
- Develop and execute monthly analytics to compare budget vs actual to analyze monthly close result.
- Ensure complete and accurate results are delivered on time for reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
- Support the global consolidation and reporting processes including accounting for the impact of foreign exchange rates and elimination of intercompany balances.
- Manage vendor relationships end-to-end from negotiating terms, onboarding, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements, and acting as an escalation point.
- Track and report open purchase orders monthly, ensuring all period-end expenses are appropriately accrued.
- Manage the customer billing process, including preparing, reviewing, and distributing invoices in addition to ensuring timely and effective cash collections.
- Support internal and external auditor requests.
- Help lead the implementation of best practices on the general ledger team to simplify, standardize and scale our business.
- Support M&A integration and ERP implementation.
- Prepare ad hoc analysis and special projects as requested to support accelerated growth.
What you’ll bring
- 3-4+ years of overall accounting experience within a fast-paced high-growth environment, preferably in public or large pre-IPO companies.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or a related field.
- Experience in SOX control documentation/execution.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Intermediate/advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large volumes of transactional data.
- Strong organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
- Demonstrated critical thinking capability.
- Process re-engineering involvement and/or process efficiency focus.
- Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail a must.
- Ability to identify and drive process improvement.
- Excellent time and self-management skills, ability to prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines required.
- Experience with Salesforce, NetSuite and Alteryx is a plus.

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 80,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 120,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
