The Automation Team is looking for a Senior Robotics Software Engineer to play a key role in expanding the deployment of Infinite Kitchens.
The sweetgreen Infinite Kitchen automates the assembly of bowls, salads, and plates for restaurant guests. The Infinite Kitchen—designed and engineered in house—powers several sweetgreen locations across the country but we are just getting started.
In this role, you’ll develop software to support testing post-installation. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and product development, to design and build scalable solutions that improve our deployments. You should have experience working with software, electronics, and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will have experience working on real-time software, experience deploying robotics software across a wide geographical area, and share our passion for robotics reliability.

Location
- 50% based at Sweetgreen’s Boston Automation office in Charlestown, MA.
- Year 1: 50% onsite at Sweetgreen restaurants. Up to 25% travel after the first year.
What You’ll Do
- Solve interesting problems: As part of the Automation team, you will solve interesting problems, including improving the deployment and commissioning of robotic systems to make the setup of infinite kitchens quicker and easier.
- Produce High Quality Software: You’ll write software that our install team will rely on to set up and test Infinite Kitchen restaurants.
- Debugging at the intersection of Hardware and Software: This role will involve solving interesting problems at the intersection of hardware and software.
- Participate in the support rotation: Interface directly with restaurant team members as you support them remotely and in person.
Qualifications
- 5+ years Python development experience.
- C/C++ OR PLC development experience.
- Networking experience.
- Proficient at real-time software development.
- Experience working within both Linux and Windows environments.
- Experience interpreting datasheets to debug problems with sensors/actuators in the field.
- Creative thinking for automated test development.

Starting salary range based on experience
$135,000-$150,000 USD
