Job Description:
As the Head of Technology for the Fidelity Insurance Group (Fidelity Life Insurance Company and Soteria Reinsurance Ltd.), you will play a pivotal role in defining the technology vision, strategy, and execution to drive innovation, efficiency, and competitive advantage within the organization. You will oversee all technical aspects of the company, ensuring that the technology infrastructure and platforms are aligned with business goals, regulatory requirements, and customer needs. You will be responsible for leading technology development, digital transformation, data management, and cybersecurity initiatives while enhancing operational efficiencies and customer experience.
Technology Strategy & Vision:
Develop and implement a comprehensive technology strategy that aligns with the company’s overall vision and business objectives.
Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends within the insurance industry to ensure the company remains competitive and innovative.
Lead digital transformation efforts to modernize systems and processes, improve customer engagement, and increase operational efficiency.
Leadership & Management:
Lead and mentor the IT/engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Develop and manage a high-performing team responsible for application development, infrastructure management, data analytics, and security.
Ensure effective communication between the technology department and other business units to align IT initiatives with business goals.
System & Platform Management:
Oversee the design, development, and implementation of the company’s technology platforms, including policy administration systems, underwriting tools, claims processing systems, CRM, and other core applications.
Ensure seamless integration of third-party systems and SaaS products that support the business.
Continuously evaluate and optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability to meet the growing needs of the company.
Data Strategy & Analytics:
Develop a data strategy to harness the power of data analytics for better risk assessment, underwriting, claims management, and customer insights.
Implement data governance, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Oversee the development of predictive models, AI/ML capabilities, and automation to drive efficiencies and business growth.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management:
Ensure the security of the company’s digital assets, customer data, and proprietary information by developing and implementing a robust cybersecurity framework.
Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure all technology solutions adhere to regulatory requirements, including GDPR, HIPAA, and industry-specific insurance regulations.
Lead the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Budgeting & Resource Management:
Manage the technology budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources for software, hardware, infrastructure, and personnel.
Evaluate and select appropriate vendors and service providers to support technology operations and strategic initiatives.
Customer-Centric Innovation:
Champion the development of innovative products and services that enhance customer experience, from policy purchase through claims management.
Work closely with the product development, marketing, and customer service teams to leverage technology to improve customer touchpoints and interactions.
Regulatory Compliance & Insurance Industry Standards:
Ensure that all technology processes and systems comply with relevant insurance industry regulations and standards.
Maintain an understanding of state, federal, and international regulations that impact the insurance industry and ensure technology practices adhere to those requirements.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum of 15 years of experience in technology leadership roles, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
Strong experience in digital transformation, large-scale system implementation, and infrastructure management.
Proven track record in leading IT teams, delivering complex technology solutions, and implementing cybersecurity best practices.
Deep knowledge of insurance technology systems, including policy administration, underwriting, and claims processing platforms.
Expertise in data analytics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning applications within insurance.
Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks relevant to the insurance industry.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
