Job Overview
As a Software Engineering Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering software and platform services that truly make a difference for our clients. You’ll lead a talented team of software engineers and technology specialists, helping to enhance the features and capabilities of our online technologies and service platforms. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with various technology, product, and business stakeholders to ensure that the software and IT services we deliver meet our users' needs.
You’ll manage the development of enterprise-scale web-based and mobile solutions, using cutting-edge technologies like cloud platforms (MS Azure, AWS, or similar), backend (.NET), frontend (Angular or React), and mobile development (React Native). We’re looking for someone who’s not only smart and technically skilled but also has a passion for leading and inspiring others. You’ll be responsible for shaping our strategic software and IT architecture vision and guiding the development of software that supports our product and business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of developers to design, develop, and deploy web and mobile applications in a cloud-native environment.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Hands-on role with the ability to work on technical design documents, code, and deployments.
- Partner with stakeholders to build a high-impact R&D team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and establish timelines.
- Assess technical debt and security risks, and work with stakeholders to balance and prioritize the work, alongside R&D roadmap.
- Drive the implementation of best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing strategies, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Support production environments and incidents.
- Work with vendors for 3rd party integrations for various SaaS products, with a keen eye on information consolidation.
- Take ownership of project deliverables, ensuring they meet quality standards and are delivered on time and within budget.
- Act as a point of contact for technical escalations and provide timely resolutions to issues.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide project updates, address concerns, and gather feedback.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree. A Master’s degree in engineering or related field is a plus.
- 3+ years in a US Healthcare organization, preferably in an early-mid stage startup.
- 7+ years of experience in software development, with a strong proficiency in .NET Core, C#, Typescript, Angular.
- Proven experience leading software development teams specializing in web and mobile applications.
- 6+ years of experience with designing and consuming REST APIs.
- 3+ years of experience developing in modern JavaScript frameworks like Angular and/or React.
- 5+ years of experience developing with Microsoft SQL (preferred) or other relational databases.
- Experience working with OAuth 2.0 authentication and authorization flows.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and familiarity with related tools like Azure DevOps and App Center.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges using modern design principles.
- Relevant certifications in cloud or software development.
