CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER - Construction
We are currently looking for a Chief Financial Officer with direct experience in the construction industry. As the CFO, you will be responsible for directing and overseeing all financial functions, approaching them with a growth-focused and construction service mindset. Your role will entail ensuring the implementation of proper financial controls to align with the business strategy while adhering to relevant laws and regulations. You will actively lead the preparation of financial reports, summaries, and forecasts to anticipate future growth. Collaborating closely with department managers, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining healthy financials.
Reporting directly to the CEO, this position will require you to provide operational analysis, strategic insights, and tactical financial support to fellow executives. Your background in the construction industry, coupled with your leadership skills and attributes, will be instrumental in guiding both your direct reports and the entire organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting, finance functions, and the accounting department.
- Implement strategic vision through efficient processes, setting financial priorities.
- Direct and oversee financial functions, budgets, tax returns, insurance, and reporting.
- Analyze financial strengths/weaknesses and take corrective actions.
- Execute high-impact initiatives, including new investments and acquisitions.
- Coordinate with teams to review project budgets and ensure profitability.
- Formulate and execute strategic plans, financial forecasts, and budgets.
- Serve as a corporate resource and supervise staff for accurate financial deliverables.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's Degree preferred).
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of financial management experience.
- Extensive knowledge of construction industry accounting.
- Strong database and accounting software skills.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting.
- Knowledgeable in GAAP construction accounting, taxation, insurance, bonding, and related reporting.
- Software proficiency, particularly in system modules GL, AR, AP, JC, PM, and CN (SAGE experience preferred).
- Exceptional communication, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to define company vision and strategy, uphold confidentiality, and interact effectively at all organizational levels.
