As a Software Engineer on the Spot team, you will help deliver solutions with Spot, our quadruped robot, to existing and new markets. This role is for you if you:
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment
- Are comfortable rapidly prototyping and iterating on solutions
- Thrive on working independently and on a variety of products
In this role, you will design and implement software that enables third-party solutions, like the Fluke SV600 Acoustic Camera and Levatas Gauge Reader, to work seamlessly with Spot, the tablet controller, and Orbit. Beyond standard software development duties, you will interface directly with our partners (in cooperation with Product Management, among other teams) to guide the partner through the integration process. In order to ensure the co-developed solutions meet our customers’ needs and work reliably, you will devise standards and testing procedures, then execute upon them.
Day to day activities include:
- Build new features or enhance existing ones that allow our partners to make their solutions a reality by contributing to the development of the Spot and Orbit APIs, SDKs, and backend
- Test partner solutions to ensure they meet our high quality standards
- Serve as the subject matter expert for any partner solutions you work on
- Assist with the technical mentorship of more junior engineers
Desired skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Advanced knowledge of C++ and Python, and either Kotlin or TypeScript
- Minimum 4 years software development experience
- Experience with git and developing in a Linux environment
Travel:
- Willing to travel 10% of the time
We are interested in every qualified candidate who is eligible to work in the United States. However, we are not able to sponsor visas for this position.
