You’ll assign, monitor and encourage the work of an interdisciplinary team of developers, writers, content strategists, and visual and interaction designers, pulling out all the stops to create no-BS best-in-class user experiences for some of the most-recognized companies anywhere on the planet. As mentioned above, you yourself will create designs, wire frames, personas and site maps, but this is decidedly a leadership post, where you’ll make your mark by pushing hard for fruitful collaboration, smashing down boundaries, and prodding your teams to outrun yesterday’s thinking. As such, you’ll bear a decent portion of responsibility for the success of the high-profile, large-scale projects to which you’re assigned.
The impressive growth of your career over the past several years has been marked by greater and greater responsibility and an increasingly sharp sense of how interaction design and research play into the very real problems of business. At this point, you manage simultaneously to think both soberly and with wild creativity about the solutions you can offer clients. InDesign, Illustrator and the like are to you as a hammer is to a carpenter; your more recent focus has been on things like communication, research, strategy, presentations, mentoring and client partnership — at all of which you’ve found yourself adept.
