POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Supply Chain Trading is responsible for the overall company part trading program and Material Management programs, along with leading and executing the Used Serviceable Material (USM) strategy. The candidate would be a person that leads, develops, and improves overall team performance and USM strategy.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Hires and manages the parts traders.
- Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the work groups.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive to ensure employee effectiveness and performance.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Generates revenue via parts trading of CTS inventory held by CTS and works with outside vendors to create USM packages to support internal workload as well as sales opportunities.
- Provide short term and long-term material requirement strategies based on customer demand and engine types to action USM requirements and increase overall contribution margin.
- Create detailed inventory models to understand current stocking positions, to identify any possible exposure and take action necessary to optimize USM.
- Provide an expendable inventory stocking strategy. Utilize min/max and optimize reorder levels to reduce order costs, handling costs, shipping costs, etc.
- Meet strategic objectives and provide oversight of all outside repair management activities.
- Create long term PLS inventory stocking strategies to maintain required service levels to support operational production and optimize USM.
- Leads and supports continuous improvement activities that are required to improve overall team performance of Purchasing and Vendor Services.
- Ensure all elements of the Supply Chain teams are always aligned and working towards the same Company and departmental goals.
- Provide departmental metrics.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Education:
- 4-year degree required or equivalent.
Experience:
- 5+ years of Supply Chain experience is a must.
- Previous Management experience required.
- Quantum experience preferred.
- Previous purchasing and inventory management experience required.
- Negotiation experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- CF-6 and PW2000 engine knowledge.
- Knowledge of financial/logistics concept in inventory management.
- Strong leadership abilities.
- Proven problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to gather and compile large amounts of data and produce usable format for decision making.
- Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Proven excellent follow-up and organizational skills.
- Proven excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to handle deadlines and work well under pressure.
Understanding of business and management principles.
