Summary: Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Regional Operations Director is responsible for managing the overall success of an assigned region within a defined market consisting multiple ENT physicians and locations. This individual provides the leadership, direction, administration and coordination of medical office activities within a defined region. This includes, but not limited to accountability for operations, customer service and patient care, financial performance, managing physician and client relationships, strategic implementation and people management.
Responsibilities:
Financial and Operational
- Assists in preparing annual budgets in coordination with operational and clinical leadership along with finance and accounting team.
- Participate in the development and recommendation of corporate policies and procedures.
- Implements and monitors internal company processes and other standard work tools to ensure effective and efficient operations in line with company standards.
- Monitors and manages controllable office expenses within their defined market.
- Attend monthly care center meetings to resolve operational issues and communicate significant issues related to company strategy, financial performance & other initiatives.
- Monitors business metrics related to financial and operational performance, including interfacing with support center departments responsible for data production and analysis
- Interface with other leaders within the organization as needed to resolve issues and successfully implement divisional goals and objectives.
- Provides support to new Physician Offices and Acquisitions in collaboration with designated internal work groups, as well as clinical and operational leadership.
- Work with other Regional Operations Directors to collaborate, implement and maintain consistent policies and procedures.
- Ensures that all Care Centers meet compliance and risk management goals. Works with Care Center managers to maintain clean, safe and presentable facilities in line with company guidelines.
Physician Relationship Management
- Coordinates contract negotiation/renegotiation process in conjunction with legal, clinical & operations leadership (and other relevant internal stakeholders).
- Coordinates and monitor contract changes.
- Meets regularly with physicians to:
- Identify any projected changes in service requirements that impact operations and financials
- Proactively address expectations and issues.
- Understand and communicate local market issues within the assigned geographic area that impact the Company and physicians through networking.
- Meet regularly with the physicians to understand their needs, resolve identified issues, and build relationships.
- Act as a liaison to ensure a strong sense of company culture within the care centers.
People Management
- Recruit, train, develop and evaluate Care Center managers/supervisors and employees in line with budgets and customer/patient service levels
- Work with Senior Ops leadership, as well as Human Resources, to develop a pipeline of effective leadership at the facility level
- Direct recruiting strategy for the assigned region to fulfill needs for short, mid and long-term success and market development
Qualifications:
- 5 years managing multiple locations at a regional level, preferably in a service-oriented Health Care Organization.
- Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university and 10 plus years’ experience in physician practice management or healthcare management with extensive physician interface. Master’s Degree in health-related field strongly preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
