Job Description
Are you ready to step-change the LEGO Group’s social impact in the Americas to ultimately impact more children through Learning through Play?
Bring your social impact expertise to the table and help us drive the LEGO Group's impact for children in our communities in the Americas!
Core Responsibilities
Reporting to the Vice President of Social Responsibility (SR), this role is critical to setting the strategic direction for the Americas, with a particular focus on the United States as a priority market. This role will also implement a holistic social impact portfolio in line with our SR aspiration and overarching strategy – to help the LEGO Group become a global force for learning through play!
As our Social Strategy evolves, you will play a key role in guiding and driving the Americas region to become a socially transformative business, including initiating key partner engagements, and contributing with local insights. A successful strategy and portfolio will be balanced and include global programs adjusted to fit local contexts, as well as country-specific partnerships and programs that, in combination, will create shared value by meeting local needs, using community assets and aligning with business priorities.
Focus areas include
- Develop and be responsible for execution of 3+ year roadmaps in USA and Mexico to deliver on SR aspiration and strategy, to drive alignments across the company, including commonalities with internal brand teams, the LEGO Foundation, LEGO Education, and the full LEGO Ecosystem. The roadmap will also include an internal focus to educate and galvanize employees into playful action at work, home and within our communities via volunteering.
- Lead the Americas team, currently based in Boston, MA, Enfield, CT, Richmond, VA and Monterrey, Mexico, to develop, implement and evaluate the SR program and continue to strengthen the team.
- The candidate must navigate current complexities to grow our impact and scale – this will include guiding the transition from Enfield, CT to Boston, MA as we look to make a marked impact on our new home region.
- Alignments with LEGO Foundation, current network of entity partners and wide range of interests and opportunities.
- Build on our initial community work in Richmond, VA as we ramp up our workforce and community work.
- Meaningfully connect over 1,500 LEGO Brand Retail store employees based in over 70 cities across the US, to our Social Responsibility work via volunteering, storytelling, and engagement.
- Leverage and work collaboratively with other SR teams to ensure US national roadmap delivers on SR Theory of Change and Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) framework.
- In Mexico, the home of LEGO Group’s largest factory, a key sales office in CDMX and a growing number of LEGO Certified stores, you will lead the local team to ensure the national plan is aligned with SR aspiration and strategy, including Theory of Change and MEL framework, needs assessment, community opportunities, volunteering KPIs, implementation of global programs and business priorities.
- Oversee program execution in Canada and Brazil, supporting local teams to increase alignment with global focus and galvanize employees into playful action at work, home and in the community via volunteering.
Play your part in our team succeeding
You will be part of the Social Responsibility Leadership Team, where you will work on driving and leading the transformational journey to increase our impact as an organization, for communities and our business alike.
