The Vice President of Apparel Design will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to our apparel design team. This role encompasses overseeing the entire design process from concept ideation to product execution, ensuring that our apparel collections align with brand identity, market trends, and customer preferences. The ideal candidate will bring a combination of creative vision, industry expertise, and leadership skills to inspire and guide our design team toward achieving our company's objectives.

Responsibilities:- Creative Vision and Strategy: Develop and communicate a clear vision and direction for our apparel design team in alignment with the company's overall brand strategy and objectives. Drive innovation and creativity in product development to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
- Team Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of designers, ensuring a collaborative and supportive work environment. Provide guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities to foster the growth and success of team members.
- Product Design and Development: Oversee the entire design process, from initial concept development to final product execution, across all categories of apparel. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product development, merchandising, and marketing to translate design concepts into commercially successful products.
- Trend Forecasting and Market Analysis: Stay abreast of current and emerging fashion trends, consumer preferences, and market dynamics. Utilize market research, trend forecasting, and competitive analysis to inform design decisions and identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.
- Brand Identity and Cohesion: Ensure that all apparel designs reflect and enhance the brand's identity, values, and aesthetic. Maintain consistency and cohesion across product lines while also allowing for creativity and diversity in design expression.
- Quality and Compliance: Uphold high standards of quality, fit, and craftsmanship in all apparel designs. Collaborate with sourcing and production teams to ensure that products meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and ethical sourcing practices.
- Budgeting and Resource Allocation: Develop and manage the apparel design department budget, allocating resources effectively to support design initiatives and achieve financial targets.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
- Proven track record of success in apparel design leadership roles, with at least 15+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating creative vision, aesthetic sensibility, and expertise across various apparel categories.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving shared goals.
- In-depth knowledge of fashion trends, consumer behavior, and market dynamics.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate market insights into actionable design strategies.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive results under pressure.
