Director of Financial Aid/Associate Director of Admissions

Westminster School, one of the leading small independent boarding schools in the country, is a diverse, co-educational high school, a close-knit community of 95 faculty and 430 students (75 percent boarding, 25 percent day students) set on a 200-acre campus in Simsbury, Connecticut. The Director of Financial Aid oversees and manages the School’s financial aid program, managing need-based aid in excess of $6,500,000. A thorough understanding of and experience with need-based financial aid is required. The successful candidate will have exceptional analytical skills, strong interpersonal, communication, and technological skills, and a demonstrated commitment to working with prospective and returning families.
In addition, this position will include Admissions Office responsibilities such as recruiting, interviewing, and evaluating prospective students, traveling to represent Westminster at school fairs and functions, and participating on the Admissions Committee. This full-time faculty position includes one season of coaching, evening duties in our residential community, student advising, evening and weekend duties, and other responsibilities as needed.
A bachelor’s degree, background in Admissions work, and three years of Financial Aid experience are required; a master’s degree and previous experience with students at the secondary school level is preferred. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to boarding school life. Salary is competitive; the employment package consists of excellent benefits and housing is provided.
