We are seeking a patient-focused Cardiovascular and Thoracic Transplant Surgeon to join our highly skilled team. This is a great opportunity to work at our Level 1 Trauma center in downtown Indianapolis, which is among the top 10 largest transplant programs nationally. With over 140 multidisciplinary employees and 15 employees in the tissue lab, this role offers a great support system to someone looking to practice at the transplant site.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for providing patient care, teaching residents and students in their specialty of CV thoracic transplantation surgery and participating in clinical research.
- Patient population includes heart and lung transplant patients, VAD patients and ECMO patients.
- Support and contribute to a growing practice with highly collaborative and interdependent processes in place for successful patient outcomes.
- Full-time position and academic/clinical rank will commensurate with experience.
- Residents and fellows will rotate on this service.
Basic Qualifications:
- Qualified candidates must have M.D., or equivalent education.
- Completed a thoracic surgery fellowship.
- American BC/BE in Surgery.
- Must be able to provide clinical education centering around complex heart and lung transplant, VAD, and ECMO procedures.
- Collaborate and successfully interact with a multi-disciplinary team to promote high-quality patient outcomes.
- Requires excellent interpersonal skills and clear written and verbal communication skills.
