The newly created position of Assistant General Counsel, US Prescription Business Unit will be the first legal position in Galderma’s new Boston office in a hybrid (3 days in office) environment. You will play a central role in launching Galderma’s first-in-class specialty biologic product with multiple indications. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of legal experience, at least 5 of which is supporting pharmaceutical sales/manufacture in a fast-paced global environment, supporting innovative new product launches in addition to general commercial support, advice & counseling. The role partners closely with key stakeholders within the global and US cross functional teams.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, negotiate and review commercial agreements, including PBM, GPO, Medicare/Medicaid, payer, formulary, specialty pharmacy, wholesaler, discount and rebate, distribution, vendor and supplier contracts related to reimbursed prescription products for the treatment of various dermatological skin conditions.
- Review advertising and promotional material as part of Medical, Legal & Regulatory review team.
- Act as legal representative on US-based cross-functional Pricing Review Committee.
- In collaboration with US & Global Legal & Compliance colleagues, develop and deliver compliance and risk management training, policies and strategies and provide day-to-day advice and counsel to organization on these matters.
- Proactively provide timely advice, counsel and guidance to internal business stakeholders on various laws, rules, regulations and Galderma policies and procedures.
- Collaborate and communicate with colleagues, business management and outside counsel on issues critical to the company’s success.
- Research legal issues that could impact Galderma’s business.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s and Juris Doctor degree from an accredited U.S. law school required
- Active US State Bar license and member in good standing, required
- Minimum of 10 years of legal experience, at least 5 of which is supporting pharmaceutical sales/manufacture, required
- Experience supporting pharmaceutical product launch, strongly preferred
- Previous law firm experience, preferred
- Proven track record of collaboration and coordination with key internal and external stakeholders
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills and ability to articulate a point of view succinctly and effectively
- Comprehensive and proactive analytical/strategic thinking skills with a demonstrated ability to synthesize data into a key action/strategy and manage through from development to key performance metrics
- Ability and confidence to work effectively and with a sense of urgency across a globally matrixed organization and to influence without authority
- Adaptability, resilience, tenacity and ability to quickly pivot
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment
