About This Role:
- Software Development & Coding:
- Develop, test, and maintain software applications and systems for military medical and tactical communication platforms.
- Write high-quality, maintainable, and efficient code in programming languages such as C++, Java, Python, or other relevant languages for cross-platform compatibility (Android, Linux, and Windows).
- Conduct regular code reviews to ensure software quality and adherence to industry standards and best practices.
- Software Integration:
- Lead the integration of software applications across different platforms, ensuring seamless compatibility and performance in military environments.
- Collaborate with the PM Soldier Net Warrior Futures Division and Special Operations Command Android Tactical Assault Kit Division to ensure smooth integration of medical communications systems.
- Implement integration efforts with DoD and DHA programs, ensuring the software meets operational requirements and is interoperable with existing military systems.
- Cybersecurity & Compliance:
- Work with stakeholders to ensure software applications comply with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) for cybersecurity.
- Oversee the development of software that aligns with DoD cybersecurity requirements and achieve the appropriate approvals in collaboration with DoD partners.
- Ensure software systems are built with security-by-design principles, minimizing vulnerabilities and risks.
- Project Management & Leadership:
- Plan and manage software development projects, including setting goals, timelines, and milestones, using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Provide technical leadership to internal teams, overseeing the development and integration efforts to ensure high-quality, timely delivery of projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including government program managers, system architects, and other stakeholders, to ensure project objectives are met.
- Technical Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:
- Identify and resolve technical challenges related to software integration, data transfer, and system compatibility across platforms.
- Perform debugging and testing of software to identify and fix bugs, ensuring reliable and efficient system performance in real-world military applications.
- Medical Applications Integration:
- Design and implement software solutions that support medical communications in military settings, including systems for combat casualty care and other medical operations.
- Ensure integrated systems meet the needs of military medical personnel in the field, providing real-time data and communication support.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Create and maintain detailed documentation for all aspects of software development, including architecture designs, integration plans, and cybersecurity risk management.
- Provide lessons learned, technical reports, and system documentation to ensure knowledge transfer and system sustainability.
- Regularly update stakeholders, including program managers and government clients, on the status of ongoing projects and deliverables.
- Training & Support:
- Provide technical training to staff and end-users on software systems, tools, and integration workflows.
- Support military personnel and stakeholders in the use and troubleshooting of integrated systems, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge needed to operate them effectively.
The “Need-to-Have” Skills & Qualifications:
- Professional Certifications: Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level-I (A+, Network +, or SSCP) and Computer Environment (CE) Certifications are required for all contractors working on these tasks.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer related field and mobile device programming.
- Clearance: Active Secret Clearance Required.
- Years of Professional Experience: 5-10 years of experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on telephone or video teleconferences.
