The Regional Sales Director - Wound & Skin Care is responsible for driving sales in the Wound & Skin Care business for Coloplast. This role will be responsible for ensuring strong execution of that strategy in their region through providing sales direction and building a culture of people development. This region covers Chicago and Northern IL, WI, MN, SD, ND; the ideal candidate would currently reside within proximity to a major airport anywhere within the region. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.
Major Areas of Accountability:
Field Management
- Provides and manages direction to the sales force in line with company strategy, to achieve sales results in the region which exceed the annual forecasted targets.
- Able to lead sales team in analyzing customer data and guide them on creating clear and compelling financial communications using customer provided utilization data, internal sales data, as well as publicly available customer data.
- Ensures the hiring of the best talent in a timely manner and develops a strong culture of high expectations and professional development.
- Responsible for the effectiveness and productivity of the Field selling team through management of all direct reports, along with ensuring cooperation in a team selling model with other selling roles and cross functional areas such as Contracting, Pricing, & Marketing.
- Spends at least 50% -75% of time in the field coaching sales reps and interacting with customers.
- Uses data to support decisions and is comfortable with Power BI and Excel, and with analyzing numbers in general.
- Creates, communicates, monitors and reinforces the selling direction in both written and verbal communications.
- Provides input to the Leadership Team when warranted for strategy development or other projects.
- Analyzes sales reports for trends, problems, opportunities, and provides direction or correction to ensure effective sales activity.
- Manages sales force adherence to company policies and field sales standards.
- Employees must possess a valid driver's license, as driving will be required for this position.
Administrative
- Oversees and approves field expenses and ensuring good cost management.
- Responsible for allocation of resources and use of external temporary staff for large customer implementations.
- Utilizes company HR system for people management and development activities.
- Completes a Monthly Business Review providing analysis and insight into the business.
- Ensures sales rep activity and data is entered into CRM program in a timely and accurate manner.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Recent success in leading sales teams in U.S. Acute Care, and specifically with IDNs
- 5+ years successful sales experience
- 3+ years of medical sales management experience with proven success
- Good communications skills specifically around simplifying complex information and providing clear direction. Can inspire others.
- Willingness and ability to travel, including overnight 50%-75% of the time.
