Lovelace Health System
Lovelace Health System (LHS) recently celebrated its 100th anniversary, marking a century of caring, change and progress while continuously improving the practice of medicine. Across its six hospitals, 51 health care clinics and seven outpatient therapy clinics, Lovelace has 619 inpatient beds and employs a team of more than 3,400, including more than 263 health care providers. Lovelace continues to invest in our community, providing more than $80 million in unfunded care and supporting local nonprofit and community organizations with more than $350,000 in direct contributions in 2022.
Lovelace Women’s Hospital
Lovelace Women's Hospital, a member facility of Lovelace Health System, is New Mexico's first and only hospital dedicated to women's health. The hospital is a 120-bed facility supported by a dedicated staff of 752 employees.
Lovelace Women’s Hospital features a 53-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, 24/7 emergency department, 16 labor and delivery rooms, a 41-bed Mother-Baby unit, a Maternal-Fetal Medicine program for high-risk pregnancies, and is home to a Natural Birthing Center where women who wish to have a more natural delivery can do so in a safe environment. Lovelace Women's Hospital offers a comprehensive Breast Care Center, digital mammography, cardiology and gastroenterology services. The hospital also offers surgical services.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Chief Financial Officer (ACFO) is a mid-level hospital administration position and reports directly to the Market Chief Financial Officer. The ACFO will have responsibility over both Lovelace Women's Hospital and Lovelace Regional Hospital. As one of the key managers of the hospitals, the ACFO is involved in most aspects of operations, primarily financial performance. The position offers the potential for advancement to the Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for gaining knowledge with a high proficiency in the areas of patient accounting, general ledger accounting/AP/payroll, third-party reimbursement, resource management, HIM, materials management, information systems, and internal audit control structure.
- Responsible for gaining knowledge with a high proficiency of FTE productive management system.
- Responsible for gaining knowledge with a high proficiency in the employment process, wage and benefit administration, pay practices, and hospital associate handbook.
- Responsible for management of productivity standards, daily and bi-weekly productivity performance.
- Responsible for gaining advanced understanding of Home Office functions and processes.
- Responsible for understanding finance, compliance/HIPAA, Human Resources, and Support Services.
- Assists the hospital administrative team in developing annual budgets and budget presentation package.
- Assists the CFO in the planning, control and effective utilization of the financial resources of the institution.
- Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs.
- Assists CFO in development of accounting personnel, and any other staff.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required; Master's degree and/or CPA certification strongly preferred.
- Five years' experience in a hospital or health care setting preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience is required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Good knowledge of accounting theory, productivity, salary cost management, reimbursement principles and decision support systems.
