What You Will Do: The Associate Director of Business Marketing will be responsible for creating new markets of interested and qualified students for assigned verticals to grow enrollment at the university. By targeting markets for assigned degree or certificate programs in our colleges, this individual will be accountable to manage an integrated outreach and marketing strategy to uncover growth opportunities with established goals and accountabilities. This individual will also be a critical leader in working with all enrollment and outreach team members to maximize outreach activities and track the productivity of our efforts, ensure marketing support, and enhance collaboration to streamline efforts. We will create strategies at the local, regional, and ultimately national levels.
Essential Responsibilities
- Outside travel to make connections and represent the university to create new markets of leads and applicants and enhance brand awareness. Depending on which verticals are the primary focus, potential targeted areas can be corporations, non-profits, hospitals and healthcare facilities, hotels and restaurants, etc. The sole objective is lead development to support the enrollment teams.
- Provide leadership to our overall outreach efforts. While there are no direct reports into this position initially, the individual is required to provide leadership to all members of our outreach and be fully integrated into the process. This includes working with teams that conduct outreach efforts to high schools, community colleges, military bases, early childhood centers, and school districts.
- Manage and strategize to grow lead channels for assigned programs and verticals by working with marketing team members to ensure enough lead flow exists to meet our enrollment objective.
- Other specialized projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree, required
- Demonstrated experience in outside sales and business development
- Strong active listening skills to ascertain prospective student needs, expectation, etc.
- Ability to work in a team environment while consistently maintaining individual goals
- Comfortable approaching new clients and presenting to large and small groups with professionalism
- Effective organizational skills with the ability to work under deadlines and handle pressure with grace.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Account Management: Develops, builds and nurtures relationships with external entities that show promise in becoming new markets to enhance student enrollment. Works independently and has the ability to travel and meet clients at their places of business.
- Customer Focus: Personally demonstrates that external (or internal) customers are a high priority. Identifies customer needs and expectations and responds to them in a timely and effective manner. Anticipates and prevents delays or other things that can adversely affect the customer. Keeps customers informed about the status of pending actions and inquires about customer satisfaction with products or services.
