Fitch Group’s Chief Data Office (CDO) is currently seeking a dynamic product owner to lead the strategy and buildout of our internal Data Marketplace from our New York or London office.
The Data Marketplace is an internal tool that makes it easy to find and access data at Fitch, with the right controls. Behind the scenes, it’s powered by multiple technologies, people, and processes, including a catalog to organize data, governance for safe data handling, and technology that enables central access to data from different sources without having to move them.
This role, reporting to the Head of Data Strategy & Programs, offers a unique opportunity to influence and innovate within a highly visible team. You will be at the forefront of transforming Fitch’s data landscape, ensuring that our Marketplace becomes the go-to internal portal for our most important data.

We’ll Count on You To:
- Act as the champion and advocate for the Data Marketplace, driving its adoption and continuous improvement.
- Define, communicate, and maintain the product strategy, roadmap, and prioritized backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across Fitch to understand their data-related needs and translate them into a detailed plan that enhances our data capabilities and supports business and data strategies.
- Implement governance frameworks and controls in close partnership with the data governance, technology and risk teams, to make innovation with data safe and secure.
- Work in an agile framework, fostering a customer-centric mindset, and promoting innovation while managing technical debt.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on product strategy, progress, and successes.
- Ensure alignment and coordination with other product owners and stakeholders across the CDO organization.
- Develop strong relationships with Chief Software Office (CSO) chapter leads, product owners, and scrum masters to ensure successful outcomes for interdependent projects.
What You Need to Have:
- A bachelor’s degree (required) with 7-10 years of experience with data technologies and managing data-driven products within financial services.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate technical concepts into business language.
- Proven experience in capturing requirements and delivering complex, multi-faceted initiatives.
- Familiarity with Starburst, AWS S3, data lake formation, Collibra, SQL, and APIs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Comfort working within a matrixed organization and demonstrated ability to achieve positive outcomes.
- Exceptional teamwork, organization, and planning skills.
- A proactive, confident, and capable manner of working at pace to make informed decisions and eliminate barriers.
What Would Make You Stand Out:
- A master’s degree or additional coursework in data analytics or related fields.
- Familiarity with the data mesh approach to data management.
- Certified Product Owner (CDPO).
- Understanding of data governance and compliance standards.

FOR NEW YORK ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay salary range for this role is $180,000 - $200,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
