CLA is seeking a highly motivated and strategic-minded Membership Engagement Manager to join our small team. This pivotal role will be responsible for driving the growth and retention of our membership, playing a key role in shaping the future trajectory of our association. The Membership Engagement Manager will have the unique opportunity to make a significant impact by implementing innovative sales and marketing strategies to attract new members, enhance engagement, and strengthen relationships within our industry.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive membership acquisition and retention strategies to drive growth and engagement through proven sales performance skills.
- Identify and cultivate new leads and prospects through targeted outreach efforts and strategic partnerships.
- Assist with upholding the integrity of the membership database. Must be willing to learn association management software and maintain full accountability for accuracy of membership reports.
- Act as a primary point of contact for existing and prospective members, providing exceptional customer service and support.
- Identify and manage membership benefit offerings and new member royalty programs.
- Track membership metrics for board reports and internal analysis.
- Manage external relationships with CLA Business Solutions companies to offer royalty programs and CLAdvantage Rewards Program participating companies.
- Work with the Director of Advertising and Sponsorship Sales to develop and manage the membership champion program.
- Serve as liaison to the Membership Value Task Force to execute objectives aligned with CLA’s strategic plan.
Qualifications:
- 5 + years’ experience in membership development and sales, or related roles, preferably within a non-profit association or similar organization.
- Proficient and knowledgeable with tools like Microsoft Office and familiar with membership database systems. Experience with HubSpot a plus.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail; excellent presentation skills.
- Persuasive communicator, exceptional interpersonal skills, and ability to foster member relationships.
- Accomplished organizational and project management skills; ability to initiate, plan, prioritize and oversee multiple projects successfully and meet frequent deadlines simultaneously.
- Must have integrity and earn credibility with members, board members, vendors and staff.
- Ability to think strategically, independently, proactively and creatively.
- Results and deadline driven with strong ability to work independently.
