As a legal research assistant, you will play a critical role in growing our business by supporting our leading thought leadership and advocacy for our plan sponsor policyholders.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue by effectively managing distribution partners. New agency acquisition is critical for developing new business opportunities for fiduciary and management liability insurance products. In addition, maximizing existing relationships with management and professional liability brokers nationwide will be very important. Hub is an important distribution partner, and the candidate must proactively develop relationships with HUB Chief Marketing Officers, Chief Sales Officers, Presidents, Producers, Specialty Practice Leaders, and SPG sales and marketing leadership. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), effective time management, strong analytical skills, and sales tenacity are requisites for success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive revenue by executing the company’s strategic growth goals.
- Locate new sale opportunities for the company by visiting agencies and understanding their management liability portfolio.
- Cultivate strong, positive broker relationships to promote the growth of new business and renewal retention.
- Working knowledge and understanding of management liability insurance; ability to differentiate between carriers’ offerings and underwriting appetite.
- Increase brand awareness and educate HUB Branch Offices and Retail agency partners to generate sales through quality submission volume.
- Drive positive key performance indicators for the company.
- In collaboration with the division's Chief Underwriting Officer and Product leaders, strategically appoint new agents and brokers.
- Emphasize the value of the division's management liability expertise and thought leadership to producers and agency personnel.
- Maintain ongoing communications and relationships with key HUB stakeholders.
- Gather competitive market intelligence and keep key stakeholders informed.
- Assist in creating Sell Sheets and other marketing/sales flyers.
- Monitor, measure, and distribute Agency production reports and establish production expectations.
- Work with all internal departments and our partners to resolve problems and maintain productive producer relations.
- Create and maintain periodic management reports that track successes (increased submissions, quotes, and bound accounts)
- Listen carefully and comprehensively to policyholders; interpret comments or questions and respond effectively and appropriately.
- Represent the company professionally at events/shows.
- Oversee and Maintain agency/broker appointments and keep E&O and licenses updated.
- Participate as necessary on special committees and projects.
Qualifications:
- An undergraduate degree preferred, or equivalent experience and 5+ years insurance experience with at least 2 years of workers’ compensation background.
- 5+ years of proven experience with retail and wholesale distribution.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Passion for building relationships.
- Excellent sales and communication demeanor.
- Be a self-starter, creative, and team oriented.
- Ability to organize work, perform within time constraints, and be self-directed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to adapt to significant change. (Carrier products and appetite)
- Travel requirement – up to 50% in various months of the year.
Disclosure required under applicable state or municipality regulations: The expected salary range for this position is $170,000 to $225,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position’s business line, scope and level.
