Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dynamic Account Director to join our team! Reporting to the Chief Client Officer, this is someone who wants to take strategic ownership and day-to-day responsibility for one of the agency's key accounts. This is someone who leads with big ideas but also is willing to roll up their sleeves, write project plans and work with teammates to pull together a deck. This person is savvy and willing to dig into the client's business as well as the agency's. They would lead the integrated agency team to strengthen and grow the account. They would also find time to professionally grow, teach and develop staff. This is a person who has a proven track record of building strong senior client relationships. This role is for a large tourism account so we are seeking a senior person with experience in the tourism, travel and/or hospitality space.
Responsibilities
- Lead and direct all program efforts in an accountable, engaging, and value-driven way
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior-level client counterparts and become a trusted advisor by solving problems, offering strategic counsel and delivering results
- Foster relationships and collaborate cross-functionally with specialized internal partners, including the PR, Travel Trade, and Development teams, to effectively execute projects and initiatives
- Cultivate and manage relationships with partner agencies to ensure effective collaboration and alignment on project objectives and deliverables
- Identify and secure new projects and scope expansions by demonstrating confidence, authority, and effective decision-making
- Develop detailed briefs that accurately represent client needs for internal team deployment
- Lead projects from concepting/planning through evaluation including effective delegation and consensus building
- Oversee the management of the account's annual budget, agency fees, and production expenses to create a comprehensive scope of work
- Lead the annual business planning process for the account
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in a relevant field
- 9-12+ years of Account Management experience
- Experience working in the tourism, travel, hospitality, or events space is strongly preferred
- Proven ability to lead the development of strategic and integrated marketing campaigns
- Proven experience working with senior-level clients and fostering impactful client relationships
- Experience managing multiple clients, with a collaborative leadership approach
- Ability to think strategically but also attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong responsiveness skills and ability to think on your feet
- Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and agency partners
- Experience working within an Integrated Agency model and the creative process
- Strong analytical skills to organize data and draw insightful conclusions
- Demonstrated ability to identify and build business opportunities
- Strong financial acumen with experience in estimating, billing, and SOW development
- Consistently seeks opportunities to enhance client success in the marketplace
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills that effectively articulate ideas
- A collaborative team player who is proactive and driven to succeed
