GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Principal Product Owner will be responsible for collaborating with Product Manager(s), Technology, Lines of Business, Risk and other key partners to define and maximize specific bank product(s). Responsible for defining, prioritizing, and managing the development of a product that exceeds customer expectations and drives growth for the Bank. Will define, develop and lead the implementation of product roadmap deliverables, capabilities, and adoption, supporting business outcomes and lead a robust, continuous prioritization process to maximize total value, risk mitigation, and other business benefits across the Bank. At this level, the individual is expected to have a deep level of knowledge and expertise related to the product or financial industry. In some work environments, will be a key leader for SAFe (Strategic Agile Framework) methodologies and will be responsible for the value delivered by the ART (Agile Release Train) by ensuring the team backlog is aligned with customer and stakeholder needs. Will manage and prioritize the team's backlog by prioritizing, articulating, and delivering new features from ideation through production release.

While operating within the Bank's risk assessment, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types. Support and adhere to all governance processes as defined by Enterprise.
This position will be focused on payments specifically the ACH and Wire payment rail.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspire and motivate teams to deliver on the strategy and roadmap for continuous growth and improvement of product outcomes and experience.
- Partner with other business functions, IT, Risk, Finance, Operations, and other key partners to define and execute on the product strategies.
- Establish annual goals, objectives and outcomes for product(s) and customer satisfaction; Track and monitor key performance indicators and outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain agreement/approval/guidance, including Lines of Business, Operations, Legal, Compliance, Information Security, Fraud, Architecture, and related functions.
- Act as a subject matter expert in the domain, providing guidance and support to business partners.
- Provide transparency and ongoing communications with line of business partners/key stakeholders.
- Make decisions in complex situations to drive key outcomes in support of regulatory and compliance needs, new revenue growth, process optimization, and other business-wide analytics needs.
- Solve very complex problems and make decisions in support of the team, with a focus on driving the greatest outcome for the product and the Bank.
- Engage with research team to define and implement customer usability testing, concept validation, and co-creation studies to gain insights and identify customer needs and solutions.
- Partner closely with third parties to cultivate the relationship, understand product releases, remediate defects/outages, and ensure a seamless experience for our employees and customers.
- Maintain and provide product information to users and partners for training and other documentation.
- Actively monitor industry trends; participate in industry forums, professional associations, conferences, etc.
- If appropriate:
- Lead and drive a SAFe mindset across the product teams. Lead in this transformation across peer teams and line of business partners.
- Collaborate with SAFe teams on creating and maintaining a healthy product backlog, creating/reviewing/accepting backlog items (user stories, defects, technical spikes, etc.) and participating in team ceremonies such as sprint reviews/demos.
- Motivate teams to deliver on roadmaps for improvement of product outcomes and experience through the development of potentially releasable code in each sprint.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent education and related work experience.
- 8+ years of related experience.
- Expertise in strategic development and program execution.
- Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt, Black Belt) desired.
- Solid product management background required; Strong presence with ability to interact with and influence all levels of the organization.
- Advanced consultative and well-articulated communication and writing skills with the ability to interact and influence at all levels of the organization.
- Deep business acumen and understanding of business processes related to your product and customers.
- Experience working in Agile or SAFE development preferred.
- Inclusive leadership skills with ability to promote a work environment that fosters creative thinking and innovation.
- Ability to have fun, a willingness to try new things and challenge the status quo through trials and an ongoing consideration of value and complexity.

- Strong desire for Payments Domain expertise, specifically in the areas of ACH and Wire.
