The Role
AArete is seeking a dynamic, hands-on Technical Project Manager to lead and support complex client data management, engineering, and analytics projects as part of the Digital & Technology Solutions (DTS) group. This group is responsible for crafting end-to-end data, AI, digital, and cybersecurity solutions, as well as SaaS products, to support our clients' business transformation and technology modernization initiatives.
In this role, you will manage the end-to-end delivery of client-facing, data-related projects with an international team of technologists and business consultants. The ideal candidate is seasoned and driven, with experience managing demanding clients and both short- and long-term projects with sophisticated data engineering and visualization requirements. You capture explicit and latent needs, run working sessions and workshops, organize work, and hold developers accountable. You pay meticulous attention to detail but never lose sight of the bigger picture. You negotiate scope and level of effort with clients and developers and manage conflict effectively. You confidently present accomplishments and risks to stakeholders, working closely with AArete leaders to chart a course to success for both the project and the client by mitigating risks, identifying new opportunities, and building trust.
Work You'll Do
- End-to-End Project Delivery: Lead full project lifecycle for data and analytics projects, from requirements gathering to implementation and post-production support.
- Data Management: Oversee the integration and management of data across multiple systems. Oversee data management and storage in platforms like Snowflake, Oracle, and SQL Server, ensuring scalability to handle large, complex datasets.
- ETL & Data Integration: Manage the design and implementation of ETL processes for data using tools like Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or Talend, ensuring data accuracy and security.
- Compliance & Regulatory Reporting: Ensure that all data management strategy complies with the needs for financial and operational reporting, such as SOX, HIPAA, HITRUST compliance.
- Data Visualization & Insights: Manage the design and development of self-service analytics, dashboards, and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik to support financial and operational performance analysis.
- Quality Assurance: Manage the implementation of robust data validation and testing processes to ensure the integrity of data. This includes working with testing teams to create and execute the appropriate testing plans.
- Offshore Team Management: Lead and coordinate with offshore teams for project execution.
- Executive Presentations: Lead the development and presentation of world-class project status reporting materials.
- Agile Methodology: Implement Agile methodologies, conducting sprint planning, running scrums, and managing retrospectives to maintain efficient project delivery.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience managing data and analytics projects, with a proven track record of leading 4-5 similar projects.
- Proficiency with databases (e.g., Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server) and ETL tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Talend).
- Experience in data analytics and regulatory compliance (e.g., SOX, HIPAA, HITRUST).
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Finance, and IT.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Demonstrated initiative, ownership, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Skilled in conflict resolution with a strategic approach.
- Experience in Agile project management, with proficiency in tools like Jira, TeamGantt, or MS Project.
- Direct client interaction, including possible travel to client locations.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.
Preferred Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Experience with AArete's other focus industries: Healthcare Payer & Provider, Financial Services, Education, Retail & Consumer, Transportation, Logistics, & Distribution, Public Sector, and Technology & Professional Services.
- Certifications such as PMP or Agile ScrumMaster.
- Familiarity with SOX, HIPAA, and/or HITRUST.
- Familiarity with ERP, CRM, and accounting/financial systems as data sources.
- Applicants based in Chicago, IL and able to work from our Chicago office.
