We are seeking an experienced leader for the role of Director of Business Development in Charlotte, North Carolina who thrives on driving revenue growth and expanding the market. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of market dynamics, build relationships and seize new opportunities. We need a motivated candidate who is eager to grow with us.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of business development strategies to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
- Identify and evaluate market trends, customer needs, and competitive threats to inform strategic decision-making.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, industry partners, and other stakeholders to enhance business opportunities.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and acquisitions.
- Develop and manage a pipeline of potential projects and opportunities, from initial prospecting to deal closure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment and execution of business development initiatives.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the business development team, including setting goals, mentoring team members, and fostering a culture of excellence.
- Organize networking sessions to explain the benefits of Red Cedar's JV programs, construction services and opportunities to partner with Red Cedar.
- Maintain communication between all parties and act as a liaison for investor updates.
- Conduct weekly or bi-weekly updates to investors or third parties and manage communication back to Red Cedar in an organized manner.
- Organize weekly updates to the VP of Acquisitions and review all contracts and specs before sign off to ensure accuracy to expectations.
- Identify opportunities for land sites or growth areas for Red Cedar's homebuilding business.
- Monitor and report on key performance metrics, including sales targets, market share, and customer satisfaction, to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist with the implementation of processes that create operational efficiencies and reduce cost.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Traits & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a related role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Problem solver capable of independently finding solutions or working with team members when needed.
- Must be a detail-oriented team player, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a heavy workload.
- Possess a valid Driver's License and vehicle insurance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel preferred.
- Prior field experience preferred.
- Able to professionally perform multiple detail-oriented tasks with simultaneous deadlines.
Job Type: Full-time position, averaging 40 hours per week.
Salary: $90,000-$110,000

Ability to Commute/Relocate: Charlotte, NC: Ability to reliably commute or willingness to relocate before starting work (Required).
Work Location: In-person with some work from home availability.
Work Environment: Office-based environment with a business casual dress code.
Physical Demands: The role requires the ability to talk and hear, stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Occasional lifting of office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds, may be necessary. Some travel might be required.
