What the day will look like
As a People Business Partner, each day will bring something new, including:
- Confidently influence, coach, and counsel leaders and managers on people related matters to foster a strong Aon United culture of inclusion, courage, connection, and accountability.
- Understand business goals and recommend new approaches to effect improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of HR within the company.
- Collaborate with People Org Centers of Excellence (COE) including Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, Total Rewards, Learning and Development and others, on key initiatives to support business needs.
- Support workforce planning and organizational design activities, serve as the first line of support for change management and effective communications of business/unit strategy.
- Ensure comprehensive understanding of new and updated People programs and policies to provide proper guidance and drive adoption of changes.
- Responsible for managing annual cycle activities (performance, talent, compensation, and engagement) across designated client groups.
- Ensure a high-performance standards are met, coach mangers to ensure they create a culture on their teams of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Contribute to strong colleague engagement by working with our Head of Colleague experience to drive action planning and ensure intended impact from our annual talent management cycle activities across designated client groups.
- Champion diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and initiatives across the organization.
- Contribute to global, functional and/or regional ad-hoc projects as needed.
How this opportunity is different
Aon is growing the People Partner team to meet the developing needs of the business. This role is part of the North America People Partner team and is imbedded within the business where it can make the most vital impact. In this role, you are responsible for building positive relationships with the business to effectively guide and support on people and talent matters.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- 7+ years professional HR experience.
- Experience in the following areas: change management, performance management, conflict management, talent management, employee engagement, communication and workforce planning.
- Demonstrated relationship and influence management skills across levels (from colleagues to senior leaders)
- Knowledge of US employment laws and currently relevant People trends.
- Ability to meaningfully interpret data and translate into key trends/themes.
- Proficient in MS Office, with expertise in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience in a business partner, specialist, and/or generalist role preferred.
- Workday experience preferred.
- Ability to travel if needed up to 25% annually.
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant industry experience.

Pay Transparency Laws:
The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $120,000-$160,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
