It is required that the candidate be based in Africa, with Accra, Addis Ababa, Cotonou, Dakar, Freetown, Kinshasa, Lagos, and Monrovia being preferred locations.

About the Program
The Africa Resilience Investment Accelerator (ARIA) is an initiative of development finance institutions to promote investment in frontier markets. The program focuses on fostering economic growth through strategic investments and technical assistance.

Position Overview and Key Responsibilities
The Project Manager will be responsible for supporting the team of investment professionals based in the target ARIA countries, being responsible for overall project management, tracking targets, timelines, and progress, and for reporting regularly on project status to the client. Key responsibilities include:
- General Project Management: Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Strategic Support: Provide insights on key issues to the ARIA team, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making.
- Country Manager Support and Coordination: Support the work of country managers by setting up priorities, providing guidance on key activities, and coordinating the collection of data on progress status.
- Client Management and DFI Engagement: Own the relationship with client DFIs, leading periodic calls to set up priorities and monitor project status.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Measure, monitor, and report on project progress and outcomes to client DFIs and other stakeholders regularly with support of a MEL specialist.
- Documentation Management: Oversee the creation and maintenance of manuals, documentation, and standard operating procedures.
- Technical Assistance: Coordinate with country managers and the Technical Assistance Manager to identify and select opportunities for technical assistance and manage the delivery process.
- Risk Management: Identify and minimize project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or related field. A Master’s degree or an advanced certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is preferred.
Experience: Proven experience in project management in an international development or investment context. Experience in strategic planning, risk management, or change management is advantageous.
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office and project management tools.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent problem-solving and leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluency in English is required.
